Cookie policy

resume.art uses a small number of cookies that the service needs to work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and our analytics do not use cookies at all.

Cookies we use

  • __Host-ra.guest: keeps what you write before you have an account (as a guest) tied to this browser, for up to 30 days after your last visit. It is removed when you sign in and your work moves into your account.
  • __session, __client_uat and clerk_active_context, set by Clerk, which runs our sign-in, with copies of the first two under a suffix: keep you signed in. __session holds a proof of your sign-in that is valid for a minute and renews itself while the workspace is open, and is removed when you sign out; __client_uat records when this browser last signed in or out; both are kept for up to a year. clerk_active_context names the session in use and ends when you close the browser, and __clerk_redirect_count lasts two seconds while a sign-in is checked. On clerk.resume.art, Clerk keeps __client, which ties this browser to its sign-ins for as long as the browser allows, and its bot protection (Cloudflare) may set __cf_bm and _cfuvid while you sign up.
  • RA_LOCALE: remembers the language you last read the site in or picked from a language menu or Account settings → Language, so that the workspace, the assistant, shared resumes and the pages we publish only in English use it too; kept for up to 400 days.
  • ra_consent: remembers your answer to the consent banner, for up to 12 months.
  • __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid: set by Stripe on its own checkout page (checkout.stripe.com), where you pay, to prevent fraud; not on resume.art.

Analytics without cookies

We measure visits with Plausible Analytics, without cookies and without storing personal data or IP addresses. Plausible counts views of the public pages of the site, never the pages of your workspace or of a shared resume. It also counts these events, to tell which links and campaigns bring people who go on to use the service:

  • Signup: a new account is created (signing in to an existing one is not counted);
  • Paywall: you are shown the price of downloading, sharing or changing a document, with which of these it was;
  • Checkout: you open Stripe’s checkout page to pay;
  • Purchase: you come back from Stripe with a payment made, once per payment;
  • a click on the landing page’s HackOffer recommendation.

None of these carries your name, email address, account, resume or payment. When one happens in your workspace or on the sign-in page, the address Plausible receives is cut to the section (such as resume.art/app), without the rest of the path or any query parameters, and without the page you came from.

Advertising measurement

When you arrive from a Google ad, a Meta ad on Facebook or Instagram, or a Reddit ad, the link carries a click identifier. In the European Economic Area (the EU’s outermost regions, such as Réunion or French Guiana, and the Åland Islands included), the United Kingdom, Switzerland and places with similar laws (such as Gibraltar, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Monaco, Andorra, San Marino, the Vatican and France’s overseas territories), we only keep it if you accept advertising measurement in the consent banner; elsewhere you can opt out with the "Do not share my information" link in the footer, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal. The identifier is not kept in a cookie: it waits in your browser’s local storage (as ra_ad_click, for up to 90 days) until you start using the editor, then moves to our server and is deleted from the browser. It is used only to report to the network whose ad you clicked that a sign-up, a checkout or a payment happened (never your name, email address or account; with a Meta click, also your browser’s user agent, which Meta requires), and our server erases it 90 days after the click. A Meta click identifier is kept only from the link of an ad, never from a link someone shared in a post or a message.

Your choices

You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer, and delete cookies in your browser settings. Questions: support@resume.art.
